My LFS guy said they'll usually avoid each other if the flow's right. But he also sells coral, so grain of salt. I keep mine 8 inches apart in a 20-gallon nano, no drama. Running a Kessil A160, 10 hours a day.
That's been my experience too. My Torch and Hammer are near each other in a 55-gallon, but the Gyre keeps them swaying away. No stings in 6 months. I do 10% water changes weekly with Instant Ocean.
