I used to, but now I'm more cautious, living in a refinery town and all, don't want to risk bringing in pollutants with outside bugs.

I've been collecting live foods for over 30 years, never had a problem. Yeah, there's a risk, but it's one you've got to take if you want to give your fish the best.

collect a few live foods, bring them home and culture them for a few generations, that way you can be sure they are safe and clean for the fish, then use the cultured foods for feeding.
