It's likely to be okay, depending on the butterflyfish species. There are many that are reef-safe, so it's worth looking into those.

just got an update on the fish my sis chose, its a flash back gramma/pseudochromis diadema - is this a good choice?

my stock list now is
3green chromis
2 percula clown
1flame angel
1 flash back gramma
1 blue line tang
1 kole tang
1neon goby
1 six line wrasee

any thoughts on this stock list - is it over stocked or ok?
next addition - got 3green chromis and 2clowns so what next?

edit------

just picked up a pyjama wrasse and gonna change my stock list - will post new one later on today

Overstocking's got me a bit concerned, to be honest. You'll need to do more water changes to keep nitrates in check down the line. I've got 4 in my 55gal now, and I know it's not overstocked, so all the fish have their own space.

As for adding, I'd do it in this order: Neon goby, six line, gramma, flame angel, and then the two tangs. That way, they can all establish their own territories without feeling overcrowded.

new stock list hopefully

3 green chromis
2 ocellaris clownfish
1 sixline/pyjama wrasse
1 royal gramma
1 kole/yellow eye bristletooth tang
1 yellow watchman goby - does it sift sand?
1 flame angel

this ok? i'm thinking of adding 2 more chromis, would that be too much? need some advice on this...
