Yes, but I've never seen a tank where flasher wrasses actually kept bristle worms in check. The issue is, bristleworms tend to hide during the day when the wrasses are active. They only come out at night, when the wrasses are tucked away in the sand. A flasher wrasse will, however, help control flatworms.

Bristleworms are actually pretty useful, they help clean up dead stuff in the tank.

I've been noticing more bristle worms lately and I'm looking for something to help control them. I know the flasher wrasse may not completely get rid of them, but it's still a really cool fish. Would I be able to do option 1 with the flasher wrasse instead of the six line wrasse, or would I be overstocking my tank?

You'd be fine on stock, but a gramma in a 20gal might not be the best idea. They can get pretty aggressive, especially in smaller tanks.
