You really need some kind of eel, I think it would be a great addition to your tank, but I'm not sure if it would be a good fit with a Regal tang and a Niger triggerfish.

I agree, but if you are considering getting an eel, make sure it's a pebble-toothed variety. Sharp-toothed eels could inflict serious injury on a child, even a small finger could be badly damaged.

I figured the kid wouldn't be handling the eel, and all that hand movement would likely spook it. Hawkfish are pretty interesting, too.

Considering my tank and the fish I've chosen so far, I'm thinking of adding some other species. I've narrowed it down to a few options - the Zebra Moray, the Arc-Eye Hawkfish, or maybe even a Balloon or Porcupine Fish. I've also already decided on a Regal Tang, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on these other possibilities.

Hi guys, thanks for all your input. I've decided, no kids near this tank, I don't want any fish restrictions. Lionfish are back on the list now. This tank's going in my room with my other big ones. The kids can just feed my small downstairs tank, that's their job. My room's upstairs, kids don't go up there, they only come down when my sister's around.

My tank's 18" tall, 2 foot front to back. It's going on a 4' stand my dad made, so the overall height is 5'8". I'm set on an eel and the triggerfish. I'm open to suggestions, I want big fish, but not ones that'll need a bigger tank later.
