Jen, your tank is looking great, a big improvement from last time I saw it. I also agree with the ladder, it should be at the bottom of the back pane - the plants will hide it nicely then.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. I really appreciate the feedback and reassurance. I've been thinking about the bare right corner - I removed some of the red plants and relocated them to the left side, so I'm looking to create a lush, bushy area on the right. I'd love to incorporate a few different species, maybe some suggestions? I'm particularly fond of the red plant I have, even though I've forgotten its name - the color is just stunning. The lower leaves are a bit lVitali, but that's because they're too close together.
I've taken your advice and moved the ladder down - it was necessary anyway, as the bubbles weren't dissolving properly. I think I'll eventually need to replace the foreground plant, though. I initially thought it only grew to 2 inches, but further research revealed it can reach up to 18! I'm thinking of switching to a dwarf hairgrass or something similar.
The photo is about a week old, and since then, the val on the left side has grown a bit. I've restarted the EI, which has been a huge help. Once that takes off again, the left side will be really full. Keep the ideas coming - they're incredibly helpful!

Honestly, I think it's perfect just the way it is - the only thing I'd change is the owner's address, to mine. I'm not even kidding, I'd love to have this tank and all its inhabitants. It's truly awesome, and I wouldn't touch a thing.

I genuinely like the look of this tank, and I'd be hesitant to remove the foreground plant just yet. The subtle colour accents it provides are a nice touch. Adding one or two more similar accents could enhance the overall appearance, but I wouldn't overdo it. The current setup has a very natural look to it, and to be honest, I'm struggling to think of any significant changes that would improve it.

The tank really does look great, everyone's right about that. What I think I'd do differently, if I'm being honest, is maybe remove some of the driftwood. It's a bit distracting from the rest of the plants, which are really thriving. Overall, though, it's a great setup - good job.

To answer a couple of questions, I have two red tiger lilies, one in the front left corner and the other tucked away behind the wood on the left.
Regarding the driftwood, I actually have two separate pieces - the one on the left is tall with a single branch sticking out, while the one on the right is all tangled and branchy. If you want to see them in more detail, I have a post in my photo journal that shows the two pieces more clearly. The only issue with the wood is that it's attached to the slate to keep it in place, which makes it tricky to plant around them - there's about 2 inches of slate sticking out from the base of each piece.

Here's the updated tank today. I've added some new fast growers in the right corner - Cambomba and Hygro Difformis. They're still pretty short, only about 8 inches, but I'm hoping they'll grow quickly and fill out that corner nicely.

Filling out the back right corner would really make a big difference in the overall look. I'm also on board with the sloping idea, think that would add some nice depth to the tank.
