I've got a pretty established community in my 90 - chainlink eel, coflake beauty angel, koran tang, 2 angel fish, engineer goby, fire fish goby and 2 cleaner shrimp, plus a bunch of snails. I'm thinking of using Kick-Ich, does anyone know if it's available at local fish stores, and would it be effective in curing ich after a while if I were to get an outbreak?

I'm also planning to add about 30 pounds of live rock to the new tank, hoping it'll help ease the stress on my fish during the transition.

Kick-Ich will kill the parasite in certain stages, but I wouldn't say it's a cure. If your fish can make it through the cysts rupturing and releasing the free-floating form of the parasite, then there's a better chance the parasites won't come back if you're using Kick-Ich.

That makes sense, Kick-Ich seems like a good preventative measure to have on hand, in case ich decides to make a comeback.

I think it's a bit of both, really - not a full-on cure, but it can definitely help prevent it from coming back.
