You could add a few slow-growing plants without it getting too out of hand. Frogbit might work well, it's pretty low maintenance.

I have hornwort in my 55 gallon tank, it's floating and my tetra fry love hiding in it. Maybe next time I take some clippings I'll let some float, see how it goes.

I've been looking for a low light carpeting plant too, any suggestions would be great, I'd love to find something that'll complement the hornwort and anubias.
