I think Stability has its benefits, but it's clear that water changes play a huge role in establishing a healthy cycle.

If you're looking for an alternative to Prime, I'd suggest checking out Seachem's Safe. It's essentially the pond version, but stronger, so you end up using less and it's more cost-effective in the long run.

Thanks for the tip, Slybird. Do you pre-mix Seachem's Safe before adding it to the tank, or just add the recommended dose directly?
