That's awesome info, thanks for sharing. I gave Alpha, my little betta buddy, a teeny piece of mango and he went crazy for it. Found it in like 2 minutes, gobbled it up in a flash, and I'm pretty sure he did a happy dance after.

My betta loves a bit of ham every now and then, it's a nice change of pace but I only give it to him as a rare treat.

Old topic, I know, but it's still pretty relevant.

Bettas are carnivores, so too many veggies aren't good for them, I've found. I only give mine small bits of unseasoned shrimp now and then, not too often though.

The Good Stuff:

- Peas: I cook and mash them up, seems to be a hit.
- Cucumber: Blanching it does the trick.
- Lettuce: A 3-second zap in the microwave makes it a breeze to munch on.
- Chicken: No seasonings, just plain. I swear, my betta goes crazy for it - whenever I'm having a chicken salad, I sneak a bit in for them.

The Ones to Avoid:
Citrus and super sugary fruits are a no-go. Trust me, I learned the hard way when I lost half my tank.

The Double-Edged Swords:
- Oranges: They love it, but don't leave it in the tank for more than 30 minutes or you'll regret it.
- Mango: My betta loses its mind for it, but again, 30 minutes max in the tank.
- Melon: Same deal - they love it, but it's a 30-minute limit.
I'm still kicking myself for not seeing this thread earlier. I made the mistake of giving my fin_tank mango and he went crazy for it. I left it in the tank for about 90 minutes, and when I came back, he was just lying at the bottom. A few hours later, he was gone. I'm guessing he either ate too much or just couldn't handle it.
