As Emeraldsea mentioned, three-inch fish should be individually bagged, especially when it comes to cichlids and long-distance shipping. I mean, if I'm picking up a couple of three-inch rainbowfish from a local shop, it's not a big deal to have them together in a bag for a short trip home. But when you're talking about shipping three-inch cichlids that'll be in transit for 24 hours or more, it's just common sense to give them their own bags.bettaMagenta wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 9:29 am 1st off, my F-1 angel is a sweetheart, just chillin' and no drama... Mrs. Loves the baby Cory's from that shipment, they're adorable...
Now, the other shipment - total disaster... First off, it was supposed to be a 2-day shipment, but the box wasn't even marked 'live fish' or 'fragile'... I was supposed to get 5 fish, but they scratched that down to 3... and to make matters worse, they charged my card for the full 5... I think they actually threw in a dead one from their own facility - I've never gotten a fish that was already decomposing in the bag... 2 out of the 3 were DOA, and one was literally falling apart... I'm at a loss for words... gonna let them try to explain this mess.
A dead fish can make the water smell pretty bad, and it doesn't take long for the ammonia to build up and make your eyes water. But having a decomposing fish in the bag is just unacceptable. If they had bagged them separately, you might've lost one fish, but the other two should've been okay.
