betta wound?

Stop taking him out of the tank for water changes, it's just adding extra stress. When doing large water changes, only change 75 to 80% at a time. What your fish needs now is lots of clean water, I'd recommend doing two 60% water changes a week till he heals.

I only took him out of the tank a couple of times, just to get a closer look at the wound. When I did take him out, I didn't use a net, I just let him swim into a large jug and then picked it up out of the water, so it was less stressful for him. I've had my betta for nearly 2 years now, and I've only taken him out a total of 2 times.
