Some betta fish use hammocks, it's a matter of personal preference. Others like to snooze among real plants, while some prefer hiding in hollow logs or cozy caves.

You've got a game-changer here, rockyfox. I'm serious, get on the phone with the patent office ASAP and lock down worldwide rights. Don't let the Chinese swoop in and steal your thunder – you know they'll try. But with a patent, you'll have some leverage to get compensated.

You need to trademark these ASAP:

Magnetic Betta Hammock
Rocky's Magnetic Betta Hammock
The Magnetic Betta Hammock
The Betta Magnetic Hammock
...and every variation under the sun.

Imagine it: a pair of small, flat magnets with plastic casings and soft felt pads to protect the glass. One magnet has an adjustable fitting to hold the hammock, and the other sits outside the tank. You could attach one leaf, multiple leaves, or even those fancy sevaleaf things.

It's simple, yet genius. You've nailed it, rockyfox. Now go make it official and patent this bad boy.

If that doesn't pan out, you might want to look into buying a replacement suction cup - some pet stores carry them. Alternatively, you could try lowering the water level, drying the glass thoroughly, and then using silicone to attach the suction cup. Give it about a week to dry completely and it should be good to go.
That's awesome, I gotta say. Honestly, didn't think it was a new idea, just common sense lol... But I don't know if I can make it or patent it as of now. It's awesome that I could, but I just don't know if I have the resources, funds, or knowledge to get into something like that. Now someone on here will probably run with it and never mention me.

You should at least get in touch with the patent office to see if anyone's had a similar idea and find out the cost of getting a patent. If you patent it now, you're not committed to doing anything with it until you're ready. The patent just means you own the design and it's your idea, so nobody else can make it. Then if someone starts selling them, you can say "hold on, that's my idea" and they'll have to pay you.

I've never heard of anything like it and I think it's a great idea. If I had a choice between buying one with a suction cup that'll fail in 6 months or a magnet that'll last for years, I'd choose the magnet every time.

Might give it a shot, I guess. Need to do some digging on how to go about patenting an idea and see if anything similar is out there. Also thinking about making magnet holders for heaters, that'd be a game-changer. Would probably need to team up with some big brands like Fluval, Tetra, and the likes. This is one of those things where I'd actually use my own product 100%. My Fluval heater is still going strong, but I know those suction cups will lose their grip eventually.
