The bubbles in the background bring to mind the Stargate, that old show... Locals used to be wary of it, now they're all fans.

I'm with you, bettaMagenta - the bubbles really do give it a Stargate vibe. That show was so ahead of its time, and I'm loving the nostalgic feel here.

To make this setup complete, you'll need a Dial-Home-Device and a Zero-Point-Module - Stargate-style. Incoming betta, indeed.

I'm torn between Col Jack O'Neill or the master of improvisation, MacGyver. The Stargate vibe is strong, and those bubbles are the perfect touch – it's like the locals have finally warmed up to it.

The fish are really taking to this ring - at first light this morning, I caught all the Tin Foils in the ring at the same time, but just for a few seconds, so it's not like they're using it as a hideout or anything. All the fish seem to enjoy swimming through it, and the Hillstream's and Pandas are doing a great job keeping the balls free of food, which is a bonus. Plus, the ring seems pretty durable considering I've got 5 large Tin Foils and a big kissing Gourami in the tank, both of which can be tough on plants.
