Re: feeding schedule for mushrooms
Mushrooms are pretty chill, dude. They don't need much to stay happy. I've got a bunch in my 75-gallon, and I only feed 'em once a week with a mix of frozen mysis and Reef Roids. They're under Radion XR15s, and they've been spreading like crazy. Maybe cut back to once a week and see how they react?

You'll get a lot of differing views on stocking. It's a minefield. Hundreds of species, all different environmental needs, and adult sizes to consider. I've got a 450 litre tank with 40 fish, but a 55 US gallon tank is a different story.

Re: getting started with cichlids, need advice
I've had my fair share of debates about filtration, and I'm still not entirely convinced that the general consensus is correct. I mean, the recommendations range from two to ten times the tank volume per hour - that's a pretty big gap.

I've had my fair share of Mbunas in the past, though not for long. I kept about 7 of them in my 100l 2ft tank when they were still young. I've since moved them to my 5ft tank, but I can tell you that plants seem to be okay with them. I've met a few people at my local fish store who've managed to ...

Help with choosing and installing new carpet
Hey guys,
I've got a question about my tank setup. You can see the left side is pretty bare, with just the big pot and some rocks. I'm thinking of converting it into a basic planted tank, nothing too fancy that requires a lot of light.

Looks good overall, I'd suggest adding a few terracota pots for extra cave space. More hiding spots are always better, as they'll help define territories.
I've attached a pic of my old tank, you can see I've tried to strike a balance between hiding spots and open swimming space. They'll appreciate ...
