Re: Enhancing color visibility in dark water

Honestly, I'm surprised it's that dark - what kind of stuff would you need to add to the water to lighten it up?

Re: Is carbon dioxide (co2) easy to understand and manage?

Honestly, I think it's not worth going through the hassle.

Re: effective methods for removing aquarium algae

To be honest, I think we're putting too much faith in animals to solve our algae problems. The most effective algae cleaners are still us. While an animal might help a bit, the results will likely be underwhelming. And let's not forget, these animals have their own needs - they might outgrow our ...

Re: I made an error.

She'll be alright. If the eggs are released, they'll likely get eaten, and if not, her body will probably take care of them. I'm not entirely sure about the absorption part, but either way, nothing bad will happen. Fish are surprisingly resilient, they can handle more than we think they can.

Re: I made an error.

It's just one of those things, I guess. We've all been there at some point. Pick up the pieces and move forward, I suppose.

Re: effective methods for removing aquarium algae

When I clean the glass, I just use a paper towel during water changes, that's it. Beyond that, if you're dealing with algae, there's likely an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.

Re: Can female betta fish have tankmates

To clarify, the celestial pearl danios in question are actually the former galaxy rasboras, not the typical fast-swimming zebra or pearl danios.

That being said, I still think mixing bettas with other fish can be quite tricky. You see, some female bettas can be just as aggressive as their male ...

Re: Can female betta fish have tankmates

I think one female betta in your tank would be alright. In my experience, bettas aren't really the ones getting stressed - they're usually doing the stressing. Females are a bit more laid-back than males, and let's be honest, bettas are pretty slow-moving fish. Your celestial pearl danios and ...

Re: Help with a struggling water sprite

I've had a pretty mixed experience with Water Sprite, too. It's supposed to be one of the easier plants, but mine did alright for a bit then just kinda stopped thriving. No idea what went wrong, to be honest.

Re: Growing green cabomba caroliniana

Just got my Green Cabomba Carolinkento4a and I'm a bit stumped - no instructions came with it. There's this little lead clamp thingy at the bottom. Do I need to take it off or can I just use it to weigh the plant down in the substrate? If I leave the clamp on, will it stop the plant from growing ...
