identifying my betta

I'm trying to figure out what kind of Betta I've got, does anyone have any ideas?
Sorry, the photo isn't the best, he's always on the move.

Re: lava rocks disintegrated after planting

That lava rock doesn't look like any I've come across before - it's difficult to say for sure, but to me, it resembles a type of gravel with a binder, possibly sandstone. If that's the case, the sandstone's GH binders would break down over time, essentially turning into regular sand mixed with ...

Re: lava rocks disintegrated after planting

I'm trying to get a better understanding of your situation, Rivert. Can you provide more details about the lava rocks you purchased? Do you have any pictures of them or perhaps a link to the website where you bought them from? This would be really helpful in figuring out what might have caused ...

Re: lava rocks disintegrated after planting

I got them from Pets At Home. They're the same as this one, I don't have any photos of mine as they've fallen apart completely.

lava rocks disintegrated after planting

Hi,

I bought a couple of lava rocks with Java ferns on them about 11 months ago. They've completely fallen apart since then, leaving just the Java ferns behind.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Kind regards

Achieving stable water conditions in small aquariums

I'm really struggling with this, to be honest. Maintaining stable water conditions in small aquariums seems like a challenge many of you have overcome, but I'm finding it tough.

My larger tank, the 180L one, has been a breeze, but this smaller one is a different story altogether. I've heard it ...

Re: feed and fertilizer options

I'm a bit unsure about the CO2 levels for my plants - what's the ideal level?
I use the JBL water test kit which shows some CO2 readings, but to be honest, I'm not really sure what they mean.

Also, I've started to notice brown spots on some of my plants - any idea what might be causing that?

Re: feed and fertilizer options

I've got a query about the Anubias, it came loose, not attached to anything. Should I attach it to something? If so, what's best to use?

feed and fertilizer options

I'm brand new to live plant care and I'm after some advice. I've got Java ferns, Anubias and Moss balls that I want to keep healthy, but I'm not sure what kind of feed or fertiliser I need. I'm looking for something that's safe for invertebrates, can anyone recommend something? Also, how often ...
