Re: keeping coral beauty and flame angel fish

I agree with floralix, not kyle, since he wasn't mentioned in this thread. Coflake beauties and flame angels do have similar colourings and body shapes. I've also heard that bi-colours and flames mix better, like zeno4 mentioned earlier.

Re: Something's wrong

Good luck with the ich battle. 28-29 degrees worked for me during a whitespot outbreak, and I also fed a lot of garlic-rich food. I've been meaning to try Spirulina, seems like everyone's raving about it, and it's great that it's enriched in brine. Have a great holiday, and when you're back, pop by ...

Re: A regal with a striking appearance

If it's in a QT, I'd go with hyposalinity and make sure it's well-fed - that's my take on it. There's this theory that garlic and spirulina can help, not proven or anything, but it's supposed to get the fish eating more, which can only help build its strength.

You might just be overthinking it ...

Re: A regal with a striking appearance

I've read that tatty fins and loss of colour aren't necessarily a sign of ill health, especially in tangs. Apparently, they can rapidly lose their colour when stressed, but in a stable environment, the colour should come back. I've also come across information that suggests tatty ends on fins aren't ...

Re: introducing two new fish

ive seen some people keep mixed color perculas together with no issues, at my work we have tanks with b+w and orange/white perculas and they all get along fine, they usually get sold before they're adults tho

Re: introducing two new fish

yeah they're both perculas, just different colours, they seem to get along fine though, not entirely sure if they'll ever pair up or not

Re: introducing new tangs to tangs

I've got some experience with tangs, and purples can be a bit feisty. Adding different species of tang should help keep the peace, though. Maybe hold off on adding any acanthurus till last, just to be safe. If you're moving the purple tang to the new tank, you might get away with adding another ...

Re: local fish stocking information

Always thought a trio of lamarck angels would be amazing. Or, a harem of dwarf angels, that's something I've always wanted to try - could be really cool
