Re: Floating plants: advice and guidance needed
I think I might have a solution to your problem, geeky. Instead of trying to contain the plants with tubing, why not try putting the tubing around the filter output itself? This way, you can control the flow of water and direct it in a way that doesn't push the plants to one end of the tank. It's ...

Re: Floating plants: advice and guidance needed
The plants are either water sprite or water wysteria - I'm still not entirely sure which they are, to be honest.
I do think I see what's going on, though. A few of the plants have really taken off and their leaves are spanning the width of the tank, which is great. However, when the filter pushes ...

Floating plants: advice and guidance needed
Hi everyone,
Just a quick question if I may?
We've been growing floating plants with great success until now, but they're starting to die off due to an issue we're experiencing.
Our filter's output is pushing them all to one end of the aquarium, causing them to clog up and get tangled. This results ...

Re: Finding water information on your supplier's website: gh/kh and more
Thanks for all the responses. I've not had a chance to properly look into this yet - all the different units have left me a bit baffled. To be honest, life's been a bit hectic lately and my brain's not really cooperating at the moment. I just can't seem to wrap my head around it right now. We've ...

Thanks Matti,
I did see the United Utilities page but to be honest, it's all a bit confusing - I'm not sure what any of it means in relation to GH and KH. If they don't use those measurements, is there another way to find this out?

Finding water information on your supplier's website: gh/kh and more
Morning all,
I've been browsing through various threads, both here and on other forums, and I've noticed a lot of discussions about water GH and KH levels. It's something we've never actually tested for, to be honest. We've been using the API liquid kit, but we've only been using the pH test in ...
