Re: feeding baby apistogramma: food suggestions
Her coloration does seem to suggest she's in brood care mode, given the yellow hue and black pectorals. That being said, it's possible the bond between her and the fry was disrupted when they were briefly removed from the tank and placed in cups. It's not uncommon for this to happen, and as a result ...

Re: feeding baby apistogramma: food suggestions
I think mom's given up on broodcare, probably due to the low number of fry left. When I raise fry, I feed them three times a day with just a tiny amount of food - about the size of a steak knife point - mixed with water, and then I use a turkey baster or pipette to target feed them. I've noticed ...

Re: feeding baby apistogramma: food suggestions
I went with the tiny ones - figured if I can eat raisins, which are way smaller than me, your little guys can handle the small size too. They'll be munching on tank bacteria anyway, so size isn't a huge concern.

Re: feeding baby apistogramma: food suggestions
Dad's probably in the clear unless the tank is ridiculously small.
You mentioned egg yolk, but honestly, it's not the best idea - it can really mess with your water quality. For a more suitable alternative, you could look into decapsulated brine shrimp eggs or Golden Pearls - both are great ...

Re: Can i add a 5 1/2 week old cory to a community tank?
Considering the mix you've got in the tank, I think it'd be better for the young Cory to be in there than stuck in the breeder box.

Re: Can i add a 5 1/2 week old cory to a community tank?
It really depends on the tank's community. If you've got peaceful, small fish that won't harass the little guy, now might be a good time to let him out and explore. But, if you've got fin-nippers or territorial fish, it's probably best to keep him safe in the breeder box for a bit longer.

Re: Can moss live with freshwater fish?
You're asking about compatibility with fresh water fish, but with over 12,000 species of mosses out there, it's a pretty broad query.

Re: Can moss live with freshwater fish?
It's a pretty broad question. Various regions have their unique types of moss. What specific possibilities are you considering, though?

Re: Can black tetra, glofish tetra, and black skirt tetra coexist with bumble bee goby?
@Nutty - can you please share some details about the water parameters in your aquariums? It's really tough to provide accurate advice without knowing more about your setup. For instance, what's the water hardness and pH like in your area? I'm aware that these factors can vary significantly across ...

Re: Can endlers thrive in low ph environments?
The general guideline for livebearers is that those from the Caribbean and the USA to Costa Rica tend to prefer hard water, mainly due to the limestone-rich terrain in those areas. However, this is an overgeneralization, as the proximity to the ocean can significantly impact the water conditions in ...
