Re: rams with gold balloon and angle

This situation is eerily similar to the GlowFish debacle. The key takeaway is that by withholding our financial support, we're effectively voting against such practices. If we continue to fund these operations, they'll only be incentivized to repeat their actions, perpetuating a cycle of harm.

Re: Diagnosing diseases

Did the white splinter just appear or was it there all along with the hole?

Re: How to create a Betta-friendly environment

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll go with sand and java fern. Any recommendations for a heater brand?

How to create a Betta-friendly environment

What's the best way to set up a tank for a betta? I've got a 5-gallon with a sponge filter, but I'm not sure about the substrate or plants. Want to make sure they're comfy.

Re: A goodbye to bucky

Sorry to hear about your loss, TimeLord. I'm sure stompery was an amazing betta. What color was he, by the way - more pink, purple, or blue?

Re: A strange growth on my fin

To me, it seems like just a color variation, and your betta's fins appear to be in good condition. I recall my own betta having a small white mark on his dorsal fin that wouldn't budge, yet he remained perfectly healthy.

Re: managing heavy rocks in a 60-gallon tank

It shouldn't damage the glass as long as the top of the stand is completely flat. You'd be surprised at the weight some aquarists put in their tanks - I've seen flourwater setups with massive amounts of rock and they're fine. My own 29g has about 30lb of rock and I've had no problems so far.

Re: Keeping electric yellow cichlids happy and healthy.

Yeah, I wish. Thanks for the info @coltin. What's the minimum tank size in gallons for these Electric Yellows?
