Re: Frogspawn coral growth rates
Here's the tank today, not much change as you can see. I'll start target feeding to see if that's the trick. I've been feeding a mix, mysis, Formula 1 and 2, pellets, and Rod's a few times a week, but maybe I need to focus on the LPS specifically.

Re: Frogspawn coral growth rates
I've been in this holding pattern for what feels like an eternity - well over a year, more like a few years now. Ever since I made the jump from my small 29 hex to the 75, I've struggled to get my LPS to truly thrive. SPS and Zoas, no issue whatsoever, but LPS just won't budge. They'll survive, but ...

Frogspawn coral growth rates
Judging what's "average" for growth is tough, given all the variables at play. What kind of new heads/growth are most people seeing?
I've got an older pic from May:
It's not exactly thriving, and to be honest, it still looks pretty similar now. I'll have to grab another pic when I get home from ...

Re: discussing lionfish
You shouldn't worry too much about stings, I've had my Fuzzy Dwarf in a 30-gallon tank and I've never been stung - although, I think he's convinced I'm always there to feed him.
When I first got him, he was at my LFS and seemed to eat the cleanup crew he was with, so that's something to consider ...

Re: discussing lionfish
Which species of Dwarf Lionfish are you referring to? You weren't specific again.
Dendrochirus Blazulipterus, the Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, Dendrochirus Zebra, the Zebra Lionfish, and Dendrochirus Biocellatus, the Fu Manchu Lionfish, are all beautiful species with unique needs, appearances, and ...

Re: How fish stocking affects coral coloration
My N levels are around 10, don't have reliable testing for P so I don't bother. Took the carbon and GFO offline yesterday, like I mentioned, I don't use a lot of it anyway.

How fish stocking affects coral coloration
Morning everyone, just wondering, how's everyone's fish stock looking. I've seen a lot of people, like me, who struggle with getting those colors right, but still manage to get decent growth going.
Honestly, my colors are pretty bad - only my green slimer's looking good, everything else is either ...

Re: life after the kids have grown up
aye, but if we're being technical, the term creature does refer to a living organism, right? I mean, in a broad sense, that's what it means. So, I guess you could say an oak tree is a creature, even if it's a bit of a stretch.

It seems like we're all on different wavelengths when it comes to shark species. I'm specifically looking at bamboo sharks, whereas some of the suggestions above appear to be geared towards nurse or leopard sharks.
For the smallest species, such as the bamboo, epaulette, or coflake catsharks, a ...
