Re: dithering for kribensis

Just a quick update, folks. The happy little couple is still thriving. Three weeks in and we've got some tiny additions - I'm beyond stoked to see that they've got babies. The male's colors have been even more vibrant since they started spawning, and the female's been busy taking care of the little ...

Re: dithering for kribensis

Thanks coltin, really appreciate the advice. My Kribs are doing fantastic, constantly digging and making themselves at home. The female's getting this gorgeous big red belly, I'm stoked to see if they'll start a family. I've gotta say, Kribs have always been my absolute fave fish. Since the move to ...

dithering for kribensis

Hey everyone,

I've got a pair of Kribenisis doing well in their new 20 gallon breeder after some trouble in my community tank. They're pretty low-key, which is fine by me. I was thinking of adding some dither fish, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea considering the male's aggression towards my ...

Re: is this a false pregnancy?

I did design the tank with a 30 inch length in mind when I brought the Kribs home. Guess the male Krib must have been watching some questionable videos in his spare time - he was a model dad with the first batch. They had eggs just 9 days after I removed the 8 week old babies.

Thanks for the ...

Re: is this a false pregnancy?

Typically, a lone female Kribensis will eventually lose interest and calm down. These fish are opportunistic by nature, with the female claiming her territory and the male claiming his. When their territories overlap, she gets to choose her mate. If something happens to him, she'll simply pick ...

is this a false pregnancy?

Hey everyone,

I've got a lone female Kribensis in my 20 gallon breeder tank. She was part of a happy pair, and they had two batches of babies. Had to separate the male after he suddenly turned on her - no idea why. Got rid of the last of the babies a few weeks back.

Her colors are looking ...

Re: Growing plants without fertilizers or co2

I've also had great success with Jobe spikes for my plants, they work a treat for my Red Lotus which is just thriving and looking stunning. I've got a pretty low bioload in my 29 gallon tank with just four Corys, but the plants are all doing fantastically with the occasional fert dose every couple ...

I'm aware of the tendencies of these high-achieving plants, just thought this particular leaf was worth sharing.

tiger lotus care and advice

Hey everyone,
I've got a Red Tiger lotus that insists on growing these crazy tall leaves.
Maybe I'll just let it do its thing this time.
It's almost as if it's trying to produce a flower.
