By the way, do females usually fight with each other? The smaller one seems really aggressive towards the other female.
It's also doing this weird thing where it curls its side and shakes - is that aggression or is it trying to impress somehow? It's kinda like what my rainbows do when they're ...

Re: identifying the sex of my kribensis
Found another one and I'm wondering if this could be the male. The front fins seem straight on this one, whereas the others have curved fins. The females don't appear to be bothering this one, which is interesting.

Re: identifying the sex of my kribensis
I'm keeping my fingers crossed they are, but they do seem to be quite aggressive towards each other - the lip-locking isn't exactly a sign of friendship, is it? I just got back from my local pet store, and it looks like all their Kribs are females too - every single one has a rounded tail.

Re: identifying the sex of my kribensis
Thanks for the tip. The bigger one's got the nicer colours, I'll keep her. Off to find two males now.

Re: identifying the sex of my kribensis
I guess I'll have to separate them now. They're getting a bit aggressive with each other. Guess I'll be making a trip to another pet store to find a male. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi all, just joined.
Can anyone tell me for sure if I've got a male and female kribensis here?
Thanks!

Re: Rainbows are laying eggs, but not eating them this time
If they're attached to a rock in a cluster, chances are they're not from a rainbowfish, more likely cichlid eggs.
Thanks coltin, I was really hopeful this time, they didn't eat the eggs straight away. I made sure they had plenty of good quality food, they were doing a great job. The male seems ...

Third day and they're all gone, eaten this time. Guess we'll just have to wait for next time and hope for some fry then.
