Re: How to keep your plants free of pests
Diluting the bleach is the key. Even if a tiny bit got into your tank, it would be harmless. Just make sure to rinse it off really well and you'll be good to go.

Re: How to keep your plants free of pests
Honestly, a bleach dip isn't that complicated. You just need 5ml of bleach and about a cup of water, then dip the plant for 15-30 seconds. After that, just rinse it off in regular water and you'll be good to go.

Re: Growing and caring for dwarf hair grass
To be honest, I'm not aware of any specific tips for hair grass carpet. From my experience, it's similar to other plants - it thrives with proper care. If you're already seeing success, just keep doing what you're doing and consider adding some extra nutrients like ferts and co2, as well as ...

Re: Can multiple betta fish coexist safely in one space
I've recently done it too, with four females, and it's working out just fine. I've got a lot of plants in the tank and plenty of space for them to swim around.

Re: No growth on my hammer coral for 6 months
Euphyllia can be weird, sometimes they just stall, then suddenly take off. If the color's good and it's puffed up, I wouldn't stress about it. My LPS corals barely get fed, maybe once every 6 months if they're lucky. I'd just give it time, but do look into what zelkor9 said about verifying your ...

Re: Building a diy co2 system
I've come to realize that my DIY CO2 setup might be more trouble than it's worth. Looking at the potential risks and issues, I think it's best to take Nick and boomer's advice and ditch the DIY CO2. The fluctuations can indeed lead to black algae, and I'd rather avoid that hassle.

Re: Building a diy co2 system
I was mistaken when I said CO2 doesn't displace oxygen, it actually does. When fish breathe, they take in oxygen and release CO2, which in turn makes CO2 more abundant. However, in the absence of fish, oxygen can indeed get replaced by CO2, as has been proven in various studies.

Re: Building a diy co2 system
I think it's worth noting CO2 doesn't displace oxygen, so as long as there's decent surface agitation, running it at night shouldn't be an issue.
