I'm with reef_lord9 on this one, those dots do resemble air bubbles in the picture. A clearer pic would really help clarify things.
She does appear a bit bloated, but it's tough to say for sure without a better angle.

Re: Why are my amazon swords turning brown?
I've heard that liquid carbon can be pretty harsh on some plants, especially Vallisneria, and might even cause them to die off - might be worth considering, especially since you're already having some issues with your Val.

Re: Are fish science flakes a good choice?
In addition to the foods mentioned by FinFan, incorporating frozen foods into the mix can be beneficial for the fish. These foods are generally fresher and more natural, however, unless they've been fortified, it's best not to rely solely on them as a food source.

Re: When is a garden too densely planted?
It would be super helpful if you could post some pics of your tanks, it'd give us a much better idea of the layout and plant placement. A visual really does make a big difference in understanding the space.
Your 55 gallon tetra tank is really well set up, I love the open space in the front for ...

Re: When is a garden too densely planted?
Here are the pics as requested - all the plants except Java Ferns and Anubias are new additions today, so things look a bit sparse still, but they'll grow and fill out, and I've got more on the way.

When is a garden too densely planted?
I'm still pretty new to this whole aquarium thing, and I've got my first two tanks set up - a 20 gallon long and a 3 gallon cube. They're both still in the early stages, but I'm excited to see how they develop. The 20 gallon is home to 12 Harlequin Rasboras and 4 otoclinus, while the 3 gallon cube ...

Re: How to re-landscape your space
Here's the latest update on my tank. Water sprite is in and the internal filter is out - I'm really happy with the changes. For now, the ludwigia is staying put, but I might need to move it to the back eventually, unless my vallisneria suddenly takes off. I've got root tabs to help with that, so we ...

Re: How to re-landscape your space
I've been thinking about my tank's setup, and I realized the internal filter's been driving me crazy - it's taking up too much space and making it hard to create a balanced look. I'm hoping the new HOB filter will help with that. Plus, I've been dealing with some algae issues that I think are caused ...

Re: How to re-landscape your space
Hi, I'm a bit late to the conversation, but I was wondering if the plants in the front are Vallisneria? If they are, they'll probably cover the foreground and block the little cave you made for your otos. I personally think overgrown Vallisneria is great, but if you don't want it taking over, you ...
