Is my betta changing color - an angel update
UPDATE: Angel's doing fantastic, our training's progressing really well - we're just taking things one step at a time, but he's picking it up quickly. Using indian almond leaves: are they worth it?
I'm thinking of getting some Indian almond leaves for my betta Angel and I was wondering, what are they actually for? Are there any benefits that I should know about? I'm really curious to learn more about them before I buy.

Anyone have any affordable algae scraper recommendations or some DIY techniques using ...

Planted tank clearout - local collectors welcome
Heathrow area people, I'm dismantling my 450L tank today and I've got a ton of plants going spare. Various types, mostly unknown names.
Give me a ring on 01895 44 99 27 if you're interested and want to swing by for some free plants!

Re: explaining ei fert adjustments
I've got pressurized CO2, which now makes sense of the EI article's explanation that a lack of certain nutrients can lead to algae. Initially, I was concerned that adding mag, phos, plus the phos in tap water, would essentially be laying out a feast for algae.

Hi everyone,
I'm curious about how others who use EI fertiliser account for the nitrates from fish waste, phosphates in fish food that end up in the waste, and the phosphates in tap water. The EI method seems straightforward without fish, but I'm having trouble figuring it out with them in the tank ...
