How's the flow on your HOB? If it's too strong, it might be stirring up the substrate. Try baffling it with a sponge or lowering the water level a bit.

Yep, that's spot on. Also, what filter are you using? A sponge filter or HOB? Some setups take longer to clear up.

Not to hijack, but how often are you all testing alk? I'm new to SPS and paranoid about swings. Testing daily feels overkill, but my LFS said weekly might miss dips.

Hi, thanks for your reply, I really appreciate your input. The behaviour of the fish has indeed improved significantly over the last day or so, they seem to be much more settled now. I'm glad to see them swimming around and exploring the tank, it's a big relief.

However, I'm still a bit concerned ...
