Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I'll try adding some floating plants and tweaking the flow. Water params are good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10 nitrate, pH 6.8, temp 78F.

Loving my setup!
Just got my 55 gallon planted tank fully cycled and stocked. Running a Fluval 407, CO2 injection, and a Nicrew light. Plants are thriving but my Cardinal Tetras seem a bit shy. Any tips to make them more comfortable?

Yeah, I stopped vacuuming the substrate so much and my plants got way happier. Fish waste is basically free fertilizer. Just don't let it get out of hand or you'll have other problems.

My tank's got a mix of gravel and sand, and I dose liquid ferts weekly. Plants are thriving, but I had to mess with the light timing a bit. Started at 10 hours, got algae, cut it to 7 and everything's chill now.
