What about colored gravel? I've seen some cool setups with black sand and bright plants. Makes the fish pop.

I'm thinking of setting up a 75-gallon cichlid tank and I'd love some input on compatible species.

I've got two cycled Fluval 405s, each handling 100 gallons/340GPH - more than enough for my tank. I've got a few favorite cichlids, but I'm not sure how they'd get along with each other.
