Torches are finicky. If the clowns are close, they might be stealing food from it too. Try target feeding the torch with mysis or reef roids, see if that helps the color.

If you're confident in your source, you might not need the Bayer dip, but since it's harmless to the coral, I don't see a reason not to do it every time. I personally use Revive for all my corals, and then Bayer if I suspect bugs or if the coral came from a questionable source. Revive is more of an ...
