Re: Juwel vision 260 filter outlet issue discussion

Pointing upwards is a definite no-go for me, I get a massive fountain of water shooting about 6 inches out the top - it's quite a sight, but not exactly what I'm going for.

I've had to get creative with the water level, it's so high that the centflake support bar is actually in the water, which ...

Juwel vision 260 filter outlet issue discussion

Hi

I'm still getting used to this forum thing, so bear with me if I mess anything up.

I've got a Juwel Vision 260 with the internal filter, and I'm slowly adding plants. However, I'm having trouble finding the right spot for the filter outlet - either my delicate plants get blown around or the ...

Re: Why aren't my plants growing?

There's no liquid CO2 in normal conditions. I'm guessing it's likely a different product you're using.

To better understand what's going on, can you post a picture of your tank and the plants that aren't doing well? Also, please answer the questions I had for bayside: does your aquarium have light ...

Also, what's the tank size and what other fish do you have in there? Convicts are centrarchid american cichlids, and that fish that passed away looked like some sort of African cichlid. Generally not a good mix.

Removing the babies might help but not for long. They'll just breed again. Separate the fish to avoid more losses.

Re: Injured cichlid

I'm not convinced it's a convict's doing. Those torn fins look more like nipping damage, and I think it's possible the fish got hurt while trying to escape another fish and crashed into a decoration or a rock.

Re: Growing vallisneria in soft water

Vallisneria's known to drop its leaves when first introduced, but it'll bounce back with the right light and nutrients.

Re: Helping plants thrive in a new setup

For most low-tech tanks, I've found that keeping it simple with Flourish and some root tabs usually does the trick. Adding multiple products can often do more harm than good.

I recognize a few of the plants in your photos, but could you tell me what the rest are? The second picture, is that an ...

Re: new to keeping cichlids

I think it's a different story with peacocks though, they're generally less aggressive than mbuna. You'd still benefit from more length in the tank, especially with peacocks since they can get quite large. Overcrowding might not be as necessary with them, but having more space to swim would ...
