Re: Monte Carlo pearling post-water change
Never seen my Monte Carlo pearl like that. Maybe I'm not changing enough water. I usually do 25% weekly. What's your water change schedule?

Re: Fungi-like growth on anubias
Try lifting the affected anubias out of the tank and submerge it in a bleach solution - 20 parts water to 1 part bleach should do the trick. Five minutes should be enough, then you should be fungus-free.

Re: caring for rotala rotundifolia
Having similar experience with my rotala rotundifolia. Lots of stem growth but the red coloration is lacking.

Re: Creating a natural environment with anubias and driftwood
I'm dealing with it too and it's a right pain to shift.
When I try to wind it into a single strand to pull, I end up lifting the plants off the decor or substrate which isn't ideal.

Re: Creating a natural environment with anubias and driftwood
I've had success with superglue, and I'd definitely recommend the gel type - it's just easier to work with. If you do decide to use it, be aware that it takes a minute or two to set properly. I've got it on most of my plants that are attached to the wood in my tanks, but I will say it can be a bit ...

Re: Easy care plants with large leaves
I'm probably doing something wrong, but my large leaf plants seem to be a magnet for Black Beard Algae. My Zorchzon Swords are the worst - they get all strung up with it. I've been dipping them in a bleach solution to kill it off, and I've also added a CO2 bubbler, as I'm pretty sure CO2 helps keep ...

Re: glass cups.
I've got a couple of small plastic cups with emersed plants that are thriving, growing upwards above the waterline where they'll eventually bloom beautifully. The only plant that seems to defy gravity is moss, but if I were to use that, I'd probably opt for something like Coflake Moss or Askento4 ...

Re: Can aquatic plants thrive in low-light conditions?
I've had my fair share of failed plant experiments over the years, to the tune of hundreds of pounds. But I've learned from those mistakes and now have tanks that are thriving, thanks to careful consideration of the plants and their needs.

Re: floating plants for my aquarium
I recently got some water lettuce for my tanks, and they quickly started producing new off-shoots. However, when I moved them to a newly set up tank, the edges began browning. I've been thinking about this, and I realized the original tank had a lot of wooden hardscape and was heavily planted, which ...

Re: coral moss
I've had some experience with this plant in the past, when I was running CO2 in my tank. What's interesting is that it seemed to do its best during a blackout period I had set up to combat an algae issue.
I wasn't aware it was a liverwort, thanks for pointing that out. I've also been looking ...
