Re: choosing the right food for your betta

I've been experimenting with a mix of things, so I rotate between live wingless fruit flies that I culture at home and a high-quality color flake. I also give my betta frozen brine shrimp as a treat once a week, I think it's a great way to add some variety to their diet.

Thanks so much for all ...

Re: choosing the right food for your betta

Bug Bites are always a solid choice, they also come in small pellet form, which is convenient. In my experience, frozen foods are a better option than freeze-dried ones. Brine shrimp and mosquito larvae, in particular, are very nutritious for bettas. I find that cutting a small piece off a frozen ...

choosing the right food for your betta

Hey everyone, I'm back after a while of just browsing. I've been thinking about getting a rescue betta and I'm looking to learn more about their food. I've got a decent idea of what I'm doing, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right.

I currently rotate two kinds of pellets for my betta and give ...

four weeks have passed

I'm heading out for 4 weeks, and I've made arrangements for my pets while I'm away. My family's going up north for the Fourth of July week, so my grandma's kindly agreed to help out with Bleu. She'll be feeding him every other day since our houses are only 20 minutes apart - she'll also collect our ...

Re: A new pet betta

Hey everyone,

I'm setting up a new 25-gallon tank for my betta and I want to make sure I'm giving it the best life possible. I've got some questions to help me make that happen.

Food-wise:
What are some top-notch flake options out there?
Are there any pellet options that really stand out?
For ...

Re: Finding suitable tank mates for a male betta

I had a similar experience with my betta and a nerite snail. At first, he was quite aggressive towards the nerite, attempting to attack it on multiple occasions. However, after realizing that his usual tactics weren't effective, he eventually lost interest. I recall being amused by his frustration ...

Re: Finding suitable tank mates for a male betta

Thanks so much for the advice, boomer and sSjey - I really appreciate it. I think I'm going to take your suggestions and upgrade to a bigger tank soon. Maybe I'll add some shrimp for company, I've heard they can do well in a peaceful environment like the one I'm trying to create for Bleu. I'm glad I ...

Finding suitable tank mates for a male betta

I'm looking for some ideas on peaceful tank mates for my betta, Bleu. He's a pretty chill guy, but I know most bettas are aggressive, so I've kept him solo in my 2.5 gallon tank. I'm planning to upgrade to a 5 or 10 gallon tank soon and I'm not sure how he'll do with tank mates. I've had him to ...
