Re: Heliofungia care and maintenance
I've got a large piece of plate rock that, if I moved it over, would put the helio in the shade. Alternatively, I could try placing it in the back of the tank, but that would put it close to a small frogspawn - which is a risk, since I've heard helios rarely recover from stings if they make contact.

Heliofungia care and maintenance
Hey everyone, just got my hands on a stunning helio and I'm excited to share it with you all. The issue I'm facing is that it might be slightly too big for my tank - when it's sleeping, it fits in the corner with about half an inch to an inch of clearance on all sides, but during the day it expands ...

Re: seeking advice on orca tl550 stocking
Clownfish can be right territorial, especially as they get older. Stick with Amphiprion ocellaris or Perc's, others will get too big for your tank. They do pack a nasty nip, you'll find out soon enough.
Acclimatise them slowly, but get them in the tank as soon as you can, due to their territorial ...

Re: Keeping kryptonite candy cane corals: challenges and tips
I've had a pretty smooth experience with these corals, they're quite hardy considering. They seem to thrive in high flow and relatively high light conditions. My urchin's been a bit of a handful, picking them up and carrying them around a few times this past week - despite being epoxied down to the ...

Re: is there a reef-safe ich treatment?
Marine ich, it's a different beast altogether, Cryptocaryon irritans to be exact. The issue with treating it is that chemicals like Copper and Formalin will wipe out inverts. I mean, they'll kill 'em for sure.

Re: keeping a royal gramma
My little Royal Gramma's coming along nicely, I've noticed they can be a bit skittish at first, but that's pretty normal for marine species. What really seemed to bring mine out of its shell was some newly hatched brine shrimp - it absolutely loves those. Now, it's happily munching on flake, frozen ...
