Re: raising discus fry feeding tricks

Yo, you gotta bump up the feeding frequency. Fry need to eat like 5-6 times a day, small amounts. Try adding some microworms or vinegar eels to the mix. They're tiny and packed with nutrients. Also, check your water params, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, nitrate under 10ppm.

Re: best filter for a discus aquarium

Y'all sleeping on sumps, but aight. If you go canister, at least grab a pre-filter sponge. Saves you from opening the whole thing every time. My boy's Discus tank crashed 'cause he skipped that step. Had to cycle all over again.

It's 80 gallons, with a bunch of rummynose tetras and some corydoras. Water changes are 40% weekly, temp at 85 ...

Re: best food for vibrant discus colors

Yo, Marksfish, you gotta try beef heart mix. It's the GOAT for color. I've been using a homemade blend with shrimp, spinach, and a bit of paprika. My Discus went from dull to dazzling in like 3 weeks. Tank's 55 gallons, bare bottom for easy cleanup, and I feed twice a day. Water changes are 50 ...
