I'd say it's an elegance, move it low or on the sandbed with gentle currents, feed a couple times a week. They can be tough to aclimate but once they settle in, they're pretty hardy.

If you're still considering it, I'd suggest trying to get the elegance to close up so you can inspect it more thoroughly for any signs of tissue recession. Although the Indonesian elegance aren't as hardy as the Australian ones, it's not impossible for them to thrive.

Just wanted to update, I picked up a coflake beauty two days ago and everything seems fine so far. He's still hiding a lot, but whenever food comes near, I see him grab it. Had a pretty intense moment though - he actually took a swipe at my tang, but it's okay, the tang will be alright.

After losing my chromis, I'm down to four fish - kole tang, maroon clowns, and falco hawk. Just treated for red bugs, so invert-wise, I've got two turbo snails, two Marguerita snails, and possibly some Nass snails. Need something fairly aggressive, won't eat co flakes. I think the issue might be with the mysis, and that you didn't introduce algae sheets from the start. As you know, tangs are herbivorous, so while they can have some meaty foods occasionally, their main diet should be algae-based.

It looks bleached to me. I think moving it to the bottom, where the current's not too strong, might help. Medium current should be alright.

It's a goby fish and a pistol shrimp. Many gobies form symbiotic relationships with pistol shrimp.

I position mine in a spot with some shade, indirect light and low flow, once they're settled in they're super hardy and honestly, often underappreciated.
