managing algae growth
Getting a bit of a algae issue on my tank glass, snails are giving it a go but struggling to keep up. Any advice on how to get on top of it would be great, cheers.

Re: is this fish unwelcome?
The thing is, your naso and yellow tang have already staked their claim, and the copperband butterfly's similar body type and color are probably setting them off. The tangs are basically treating the copperband like a rival male, hence the aggression. Unfortunately, it's unlikely this behavior ...

is this fish unwelcome?
Just over a year in with my 240lt tank and I'm having some issues. Got a copperband butterfly fish recently and it's not going down well with my naso and yellow tang. I know fish can be territorial, but I thought these three were all pretty chill. Will the bullying ease off once they get used to the ...

Re: keeping a regal tang
Nah, i'm thinkin it might be stress or boredom, maybe he's just missin the interaction with his old tankmates, like a yellow tang and a naso tang woulda kept him company, now he's just on his own.

keeping a regal tang
i've had my regal for over a year now and we've been through some rough times, 1st it was the initial settling in issues, then that nasty ich outbreak that wiped out his tankmates (yellow tang & naso tang) now he's looking great (colour, size, the works) but he's turned into a total hermit, hiding ...

Re: new ideas for the addition
Continuous feeding seems to be the key to preventing coflake nipping in dwarf angels. As I recall, Centropyge are naturally herbivorous, but if they develop a taste for coflakes in captivity, it's often difficult to reverse. Using a slow dripper or nori sheets to provide a constant food supply ...

Re: Wall hammer coral spawning habits
"update - been keeping an eye on those little orange hammer heads and it's looking like they might not be from my wall hammers after all - turns out they're probably babies from my aussie orange/gold torch. found a bigger one the other day and the tips are white, just like my gold torch. will try to ...

Re: Wall hammer coral spawning habits
I've got a 350 display tank, so I don't target feed - my tangs and foxfaces would just eat it off the coral, anyway. I do feed heavily, though, and the nutrients are pretty high in there right now. I recently bumped up the flow, and the SPS corals seem to be loving it. The babies that were up high ...

Re: Wall hammer coral spawning habits
Here's a pic of momma
She's getting bigger, been watching her retract when I mess with the tank and the little ones are growing too. Saw my yellowstriped cardinal trying to hold onto a mouthful of eggs tonight, some spilled out and the dendro got a nice snack.
