Yeah, I'd give it some time. My new heater took like 48 hours to get stable. Also, make sure there's no draft near the tank. That can mess with the temp too.

I had the same thing happen with my old heater. It was sketchy as heck. Ended up replacing it with a more reliable one. You might wanna check if the heater's thermostat is calibrated right.

The Shrimp Farm is pricey though. If you're just starting out, maybe go with Aqua Huna first to see if you even like keeping shrimp.

I've always found that running the QT as a regular tank, minus the fish, works best for me. This way, I avoid any potential cycling issues. I used to have a 20g tank, but now I've got a 10g setup with a sponge filter, heater, and light - it's been running smoothly with some floating plants. Having ...
