Dwarf hairgrass can be tricky but rewarding. I've had success with it in my 30 gallon, same substrate as yours. Key is high light and CO2. Without CO2, it'll grow slower but can still carpet if you're patient. What's your nitrate level at?

Nah, it's not that aggressive. It'll spread, but you can cut it back easy. Just don't let it smother slow growers like Anubias.

Java Moss is way more chill, bro. It'll grow anywhere, even in low light. Java Fern needs a bit more attention, like proper anchoring and decent lighting. If you're lazy like me, go with the moss.
