Re: refugium benefits for corals
Even a 10-gallon can benefit from a tiny refugium. Just gotta keep it simple—some macro, a light, and a bit of flow. Doesn't have to be fancy to work.

Re: refugium benefits for corals
I'm all for refugiums, but they can be a pain to set up right. Gotta make sure you've got enough flow through the fuge, or the Chaeto just sits there. Also, pods love it, which is a bonus for the tank.

I agree with everyone here. Just take it slow and monitor your fish closely when you reintroduce them. Stress can make them more susceptible to illness.

He's looking a bit more lively tonight, turned the temp up a notch to 28-29 and cranked up the skimmer, now I'm emptying it daily. He seems better, fingers crossed. Thanks for the input guys, appreciate the help.

Re: Something's wrong
Anyone know why my cleaner shrimp freak out whenever my tang tries to get cleaned? They just back up and swim away.
I'm thinking of trying hyposalinity in a QT tank too, but the timing's terrible - I'm off on holiday Tuesday. What a great time to deal with ich.

Something's wrong
My poor regal's got ich, it's such a nightmare. He's still eating fine and doesn't seem too bothered, but I've caught him rubbing against the rocks like crazy. Does anyone know where I can get some No More Ich? I've been treating him with Melafix but it's not making a huge difference so far.

Re: A regal with a striking appearance
I think everyone's being a bit too cautious here, I'd get it into QT ASAP and start feeding it a mix of Nori and other flakes to see if I can get some life back into it. I know the chances are slim, but it's worth a shot, right? I mean, I've heard of Regals being pretty resilient, and like I said, I ...

Re: Marine fish recommendations from the community
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you're one of those people, but I've seen it time and time again - people getting fish that are gonna outgrow their tank in no time, and then they're stuck. It's just not fair on the fish, you know? I think it's better to only get fish that'll thrive in the tank ...

Re: information on boxer shrimp
Boxer shrimps are pretty cool, but they do come with some caveats. They're not exactly tolerant of triggers and wrasses, so keep that in mind. I'd recommend getting them as a true mated pair or on their own - they can be a bit feisty and fight if not paired correctly.
