Rams are cool, but they can be finicky. If you want something tougher, go for a Pearl Gourami. They're chill, got that iridescent sheen, and won't mess with your other fish. Plus, they're not as fussy about water params.

Cardinals are more outgoing once settled. Give 'em floating plants to dart under—makes 'em feel safe. How long've your Neons been in the tank?

Cardinals are hardier in my experience, especially if your water's already soft. Neons can be sketchy with pH swings. Both are peaceful, but Cardinals school tighter, which looks awesome in a planted setup. What's your tank temp? They prefer 76–80F.

didn't you upgrade your tank setup recently, and did that also involve changing the lighting system, I'm just trying to understand what might've caused this issue
