I've been running a 20 gallon planted tank for about six months now, and my plants just aren't thriving. I'm using a basic LED light that came with the tank, but I'm not sure if it's enough. Has anyone else had this issue? My Anubias and Java Fern are barely growing, and the leaves look pale.

You're right to recheck the GH, 59mg/l is way too soft for Rift Lake cichlids and most rainbowfish - they need a GH of over 300ppm. Your pH of 7.8 is perfect for rainbowfish and peacock cichlids from Lake Malawi, but the GH needs to be higher, around 300-350ppm.
