Sponge filters are great, but if you wanna keep it clean without much hassle, a small hang-on-back with adjustable flow works too. Just baffle the output with a sponge or something.

Yo, sounds like you might be low on iron, fam. Check if the veins stay green while the rest yellows. That's classic iron deficiency. Try adding some iron supplement, like Flourish Iron, and see if it helps.

Man, this thread's making me rethink my life choices. Got a 55-gallon with Palys front and center, Current USA Orbit IC, 1.025 salinity. Been handling them barehanded for months. Guess I'll grab some gloves tomorrow. Anyone know if the toxin's in all Palys or just some strains?

I've kept Emperor Tetras for years, and I always drip acclimate. They're pretty hardy, but why risk it? Takes like 30 minutes tops. My tank's similar to yours, 75°F, pH 7.0, and they've been thriving.
