Re: Is my browning plant dying?

I've got a plant in my tank that's in a silent cycle right now and I'm not sure what it is (anyone know the species?). The lower leaves are browning - should I cut them off? I've also got some hornwort with wilting lower leaves, is this a light issue because the upper leaves are blocking them ...

Re: Is my browning plant dying?

Your water parameters look good. Do you use any fertilizers in your aquarium? What's your aquarium lighting schedule like, how many hours a day do you keep the lights on?

Re: Is my browning plant dying?

Before we dive into the plant issues, can you tell me what your water parameters are looking like?

Re: Is my betta susceptible to fin rot

I'm pretty sure it's fin rot, despite your parameters being fine - that usually points to a bacterial infection. 75% water change should help, and make sure to clean the gravel and scrub the glass to get rid of the infection. Once you've done the water change, add some aquarium salt - one level ...

Re: seeking guidance as a new aquarist

Another consideration for you: Starting out with possibly wild-caught, sensitive saltwater fish - is it the best move for a new fishkeeper?

I've had experience with a fighting game fish for 3 years, and some neptunes too. I'm 100% sure I can care for them properly. And I'm getting captive-bred ...

Thanks, appreciate it.

Re: seeking guidance as a new aquarist

@kingrise, sry if u dont like pings but I'm pretty sure u have a 40g reef with 2 clowns? I'm on a tighter budget, so I went with the biggest I could afford - a 15g.

seeking guidance as a new aquarist

I just set up a 15 gallon aquarium and I've got a few questions to get sorted.

Can I keep 2 clownfish, 1 yellow clown goby, and 2 hermit crabs in a real coral reef setup in a 15 gallon tank?

Should I go for juvenile clownfish or get them fully grown - I'm not sure which is better.

Are there ...

I really hope you're not suggesting that if the worst happens, sunsetora should, well, eat his betta.

Re: Betta fin rot: causes and treatment

I think a combination of treatments could be the way to go here. Firstly, I'd recommend doing three 50% water changes to really get the tank clean and reduce any disease organisms that might be present.

After that, you could try adding some aquarium salts to the tank - make sure it's the actual ...
