observations on clownfish breathing patterns
Just got back from Orlando, Florida and found a skeleton of one of my clownfish in my room. Now I'm left with the last one and it's breathing rapidly - can't be the water stats, maybe it's stressed from the angelfish? Or could it be marine velvet, I don't see any spots though.

Re: Is this fish species suitable for my aquarium?
I'd actually recommend the kole tang over the yellow. From my experience, kole tangs stay smaller, which is a plus, and yellow tangs tend to have aggression problems.
I still think yellows are a better choice, but I see your point. They can be aggressive, I agree. However, kole tangs can be a ...

Re: Is this fish species suitable for my aquarium?
Hello,
I've been considering the following fish for my tank:
1. Kole tang or yellow tang - which one's easier to care for?
2. Percula clownfish (a pair)
3. Lawnmower blenny
4. Six line wrasse
Are they compatible? I'm particularly interested in knowing which tang is more low-maintenance ...

Re: Keeping kryptonite candy cane corals: challenges and tips
I've had a pretty mixed experience with mine. It's grown from a single head to around 15-20 heads in about a year, which is great. However, it's also had its fair share of setbacks - twice it's necrosed and receded down to almost nothing, just a bare skeleton and a few bits of tissue. The first time ...

"dont do freshwater dip for white spot, its not effective on the parasite, it actually makes it worse, get a separate tank, set it up as qt, and remember, ich is technically a freshwater disease, were just dealing with the marine version, its basically marine white spot"
are you sure freshwater ...

Re: July coral photos
I've found a couple of apps that help with the blue-ish tone from my iPhone photos. Check out the App Store - I use Aviary and camera+ (both free, by the way). They let you adjust white balance and saturation to get a more realistic look.
