Not worth the risk. Erythromycin nukes your biofilter, and black band's often a combo of bacteria and cyanobacteria. Stick to mechanical removal and dips.

Black band's nasty stuff. I've had luck with targeted peroxide dips, 3% for 2 minutes, then blasting the dead tissue off with a baster. Keep an eye on your alkalinity, it tends to swing during treatment. What's your nitrate sitting at?

Other than giving them a roll every now and then to prevent flat spots, moss balls are pretty low maintenance. I've heard some people take them out and give 'em a squeeze to get rid of excess water, but I'm not really sure if that's necessary, fluxx.

Hey fellow aquarists, just got 3 moss balls and I'm curious - any special care requirements or can I just leave them be?
