Live plants that are safe for Bettas

I'm setting up a new 10-gallon tank for my betta and wanna add some live plants. What's safe for them? I've got a sponge filter, sand substrate, and a low-flow heater. Light's on for 8 hours a day.

best discus tank cleaning tools

What's the best way to clean a discus tank without stressing them out? I've got a 75 gallon with sand substrate, driftwood, and some live plants. My current routine is 50% water changes twice a week, but the algae buildup is getting annoying. I've tried a magnetic cleaner, but it doesn't cut it for ...

Good call. Also, how old are your Discus? Juveniles poop way more than adults. My tank stabilized once mine hit 4 inches.

Same here. Skipped a week once, and my girl got lethargic. Now I test ammonia weekly too, just in case.

Re: Discus tank flow for happy fish

Flow stress can trigger aggression too. My group fought less after I added a second, smaller filter (Seachem Tidal 55) opposite the main one. Balanced flow = happy fish. Also, what's your lighting schedule? Bright lights + high flow = panic mode.

HELP! Can I move my small discus into a general community tank that's non discus?

I've got two discus that are getting beat up pretty badly, they're thinning out and starting to stunt. Thinking of moving them to my other established tank, it's got rummies, cories, neons, and dwarf rainbow fish - not a discus setup. Will this be a contamination risk or can my discus adapt, or is ...
