Re: discus tank gravel vs sand
Gravel's fine if you're on top of maintenance. I've got a 55-gallon with gravel, and my Discus are thriving. Just gotta vacuum it weekly and keep an eye on nitrates. Sand's prettier, though, no lie.

Re: discus tank heater placement tips
Keep 'em away from the substrate too. Sand can trap heat and mess with the thermostat. How often you cleaning your heaters?

Re: setting up a coral frag tank
For a 20-gallon frag tank, you'll need decent lighting, a small powerhead for flow, and a heater. I'd skip the skimmer if you're keeping it simple, just do weekly water changes. What kind of lighting you got?

Re: cloudy water in discus tank woes
I had this issue when I overfed my discus. Cut back on the beef heart for a few days and see if it helps. Also, check if your filter flow is strong enough. My FX6 handles my 75-gallon fine, but if it's clogged, it might not be pulling its weight.

Need Help to identify Discus Strain
Hi Guys, I've been lurking around here for a bit, first time posting so apologies if I mess up.
I've had discus for almost a year now, but I'm having trouble figuring out their strains. I could take a guess, but I'd rather get expert opinions.
They're around 9 months old, some are about 10 inches ...
