I've had instances where I've moved a fish to the main tank after a month in quarantine, only to have ich show up later. I've found that those fish I've quarantined for less than two months have all met the same unfortunate fate - they've died after being moved.

I'm a firm believer in quarantining for an extended period, at least two months to be safe. This way, you're giving yourself ample time to notice any potential issues with the fish. If you do happen to notice something's off, I'd recommend reaching out for Paraguard first. It's a great option since ...

Good point. Pool filter sand or CaribSea Super Naturals are safe bets. Avoid anything with sharp edges.

Clown Knife Fish can be picky eaters at first. Try live or frozen bloodworms to get it started. Mine took a week to adjust before it would touch pellets. Also, dim the lights, they're nocturnal and might be stressed by bright lighting.
